발표하고 감마 레이를 탈퇴한 랄프 시퍼스는 몇 년 동안의 공백기를 가진 뒤 자신의 그룹을 조직하기
위해 멤버를 끌어 모은다.
이윽고 97년에 주다스 프리스트를 추종하는 정통 메틀 사운드를 구사하는 프라이멀 피어를 조직해
셀프 타이틀의 데뷔 앨범을 발표하는데, 이때 멤버는 Ralf Scheepers(보컬),
Tom Naumann(기타, 키보드), Klaus Sperling(드럼), Mat Sinner(베이스, 키보드) 등 4인조이다.
특히 이 가운데 베이시스트 Mat Sinner는 이전에 자신이 이끌던 그룹 시너(Sinner)에서
[Wild'n' Evil](82), [Fast Decision](83), [Dnger Zone](84), [Touch Of Sin](85),
[Comin Out Fighting](86), [Dangerous Charm](87) 등 많은 앨범을 발표한 경력이 있는 베테랑이다.
4인조임에도 불구하고 탄탄한 사운드를 구사한 데뷔 앨범은 일부 유럽과 일본권을 중심으로 좋은
반응을 얻었다.
99년 기타리스트 Stefan Leibing을 보강하여 5명의 트윈리드 시스템으로 팀을 재편성한 이들은
전작과 거의 변하지 않은 사운드를 담은 두 번째 앨범 [Jaws Of Death]를 발표해 꺼져 가는
정통성의 회복을 위해 노력하고 있다.
